During my practicum, my coaching teacher, Rebeca Dougherty and I were having conversation about ADST and how to incorporate it into the classroom. ADST is still something that I find a bit confusing but speaking with Rebeca helped clarify some aspects about it. during this conversation, Rebeca had expressed that she had always wanted to try baking with the students but didn’t feel like she wanted to tackle it on her own. With me being there, she suggested it as an opportunity for us to collaborate and carry out this lesson on baking together. We reached out to parents by email and asked if any of them would be interested in helping us with the baking as we felt we needed at least four adults in the room with 19 students. There were two adults that responded and were ready to help us with the baking.

Without the parents help, it wouldn’t have run as smoothly and it would have been overwhelming for just myself and Rebeca.
