Hello! My name is Justine Lamothe, and I am an EY teacher candidate in the 2023-2024 Bachelors of Education program at UNBC. Before I started my journey in the education program, I completed a degree in First Nations Studies at UNBC in May of 2023. I have been working as a pharmacy assistant at the University Hospital of Northern BC as a casual for almost 8 years now. This job has given me a lot of opportunity and knowledge surrounding healthcare. I also have experience in education. I held a position as an Indigenous Education Worker at Heather Park Elementary School in May and June of 2022. I also completed an internship at Nusdeh Yoh Elementary School as a requirement to receive my degree in First Nations Studies. I helped Nusdeh Yoh with their annual summer camp in July and August of 2022 and I helped with their learn to skate program as well. In my free time I love to spend time with my family, my friends, and my cat. I also play ringette, love to get outside, exercise, and love adding to my house plant collection. I am very much looking forward to where this journey in the education program leads me and I know I will grow so much as a person and as an educator.
